SECRETAIRE "À ABATTANT"
Directoire, Berne, ca. 1790. Attributed to the workshop of Johannes Äbersold (1737-1812).
Cherry, maple burlwood, plum, amaranth, and in part tinted fruit woods inlaid in rectangular reserves with geometric fillets. Front with one drawer over a hinged writing surface and a lower section with double-doors. The writing surface opens up into nine drawers and two compartments. The lower section opens up into a central compartment and seven drawers. The inside lined with geometrically patterned beige paper. Brass escutcheons (in part later). 2 keys.
