Japan 2nd half of 19th c. Height 4.5 cm.
Boxwood. Kanshin (Chin. Han Xin) who was a noble man and a famous general of the Han dynasty crawles between the legs of his braggy challenger.
Provenance: Old Swiss private collection purchased in the 1950s and 1960s in Asia. Thence by descent to the grandchildren.
