Provenance:
- Acquired in Paris in 1950 (as Charles-Antoine Coypel).
- Since then in a private collection, Switzerland, for several generations.

Condition:
Oil on lined canvas. Paint surface shows a slight degree of wear, with a network of craquelure. Some older retouching visible in parts. Slight colour abrasions and stretcher marks visible along the edges.
Under UV: several retouchings ans retouched craquelure visible on the figure and in the background. Varnish appears in fluorescent green.
Dimensions with frame: 93,5 × 84,5 cm.
