Two leaves from a book, with studies of proportions. 1. Frontal view of a man with outstretched right arm and left leg to the side, drawn from circular arc with centre in the navel; 2. View of same man from the back.
Woodcuts on laid paper with watermark: Medium orb with arched central line and small star. (Meder 59), 1528.
No.1. Verso with depiction of side view of a very slender man, with his arm viewed from the side; No. 2 German text.
29.3 x 20.5 cm (two leaves: 29.3 x 41 cm).

Schoch/Mende/Scherbaum nos. 277.46, 277.47 and 277.48; Meder XXIX 1. German edition of 1528. - Very fine, precise impressions. The single sheets have been joined by means of mounting strips verso. The vertical central fold with traces of the old binding. The paper is slightly browned, and overall with some traces of damp in parts. With finger soiling and wear in the margins. Scattered spots. No. 2 with a few old annotations in pen and grey ink. Rare.
