FINE FIGURES OF THE FOUR HEAVENLY KINGS.
Mongolia, 18th c. Height 18.5 cm.
Cast bronze (heads and hands) and gilt copper repoussé. They watch over all four cardinal directions and protect the world and the buddhist faith. Two base plates replaced.
Provenance: German private collection since about 25 years. Exhibited from 2008-2013 at the Museum of Asian Art Berlin.

青銅鑄天王像,鏨花鎏金工藝。四尊天王像各觀看各個方位,寓意鎮守四方,保護世界和守衛佛法,其中兩尊的底板為重配。
來源:德國私人收藏已有近25年,藏品曾於2008年至2013年在柏林亞洲藝術博物館展出。與Chang Foundation收藏的鎏金佛像相似,台北1993年,S. 160-167。
