A MONJU SHIGEKUNI WAKIZASHI.

Japan, early Edo period, length 45.1 cm (blade), 59.8 cm (incl. nakago).
Curvature 1.0 cm. Mumei, attributed to Monju Shigekuni. Jihada: tight itame. Suguha-Hamon with notare und partially kinsuji. 19th c. mounting. A mokko-gata iron tsuba with wave decor and some gold dots. Menuki in gold and dragon form, shakudô fuchi-gashira with tiger and bamboo design on nanako ground. Tsuka-ito over rayskin. Black lacquered saya, shirasaya und silk bag. (2)
