A SIGNED BIZEN OSAFUNE KIYOMITSU KATANA.
Japan, Muromachi period (dated 1559), length 67.6 cm (blade), 85.2 cm (incl. nakago).
Curvature: 1.5 cm. Blade signed at base "Bizenkoku jû Osafune Kiyomitsu saku" (made by Kiyomitsu from Osafune), at reverse "Eiroku ni nen hachi gatsu hi" (a day in the eight month of second year of Eiroku era = August 1559), jihada in ko-itame, utsuri. Hamon: suguha und kogunome midare. Koshirae: all parts made in Mino (Gifu province)/Mino Kinkou Kanagu. Shakudô tsuba, fuchi and kashira with flower and dragon takazôgan in gold, the golden menuki in shape of lobsters. Tsuka-ito over rayskin. With shirasaya und silk bag. Certificate: NBTHK Hozon, mei.
