Prof. Dr. Helmut Börsch-Supan bestätigt die Eigenhändigkeit anhand einer Fotografie, wofür wir ihm danken. Er vermutet, dass es sich trotz der Berge wohl um eine Ansicht auf Rügen handelt. Einen "Buchenwald auf Rügen" präsentierte Richter auf der Berliner Akademie-Ausstellung von 1887.
