H 82 cm.
The original from the Hellenistic period, which is no longer preserved today, was made in the 2nd century BC and must have been extremely popular, as the Romans often adopted the motif of the lively faun snapping his fingers to the beat in the 1st century AD. One of the most famous versions was found in the middle of a large water basin in the "Casa del Fauno" in Pompeii and is now in the National Museum of Naples.
