ENDYMION RELIEF
Probably Coptic, 4th century A.D.
Limestone. Depiction of Endymion reclining with his eyes open, to the left of him is the Goddess Selene in the form of the seductive serpent. Decorated with tendrils. Mounted on a later travertine base.
L 48 cm, H without base 22 cm.
