BAS-RELIEF DESIGNED AS A SMALL HOUSE ALTAR

Romanesque type, probably France, 19th century. Neo-Gothic silver mount.
Carved bone and chased silver in a gable-shaped wooden frame on remains of red velvet. The predella depicts the Punishment of Ananias and Saphira, above Christ as the Ruler of the World, flanked on the right by the symbol of the Good Shepherd and the Bad Shepherd, and on the left by a bleeding woman touching the hem of Christ. Silver mount with symbols of the Four Evangelists.
With frame 27 × 22 cm.
