CLOCK WITH WOODEN COGWHEELS AND ALARM
Berne, dated 1801 and marked on the inside of the door 'May 1801, no 122 Hertig Zeitmacher'. Probably Christen Hertig, mentioned in Oberhofen/Bernese Oberland, 2nd half of the 18th century.
Closed case with pierced metal upper section. The dial decorated with applied winged angel heads in the corners. Wooden chapter ring, with central alarm disc. Movement with verge escapement and front pendulum. Striking the hour on bell, with external fly-vane, small alarm mechanism on bell. Brass, iron and wooden weights.
