Sometimes size does matter. One is left speechless when in the presence of such a gigantic piece of Iron that traveled milion of miles through intergalactic space. The shape, surface texture and color are of the finest quality.

出处：瑞士私人收藏这块陨石来自于有记录以来最大的陨石雨之一。它发生在大约6000年前，在现在的阿根廷上空，是两个小行星之间的碰撞。陨石撞击的地方被称为Campo del Cielo（西班牙文的天空之域）。陨石较大碎片的速度是如此之快，以至于形成了20多个深坑。最大的一个直径有一个足球场那么大。1576 年，西班牙探险家首次记录了陨石的各个部分。此后发现的天体的各个部分的重量从几毫克到30吨不等。陨石表面优雅的凹痕被称为气印，是在它进入地球大气层时外部开始融化时形成的。另见1828、1844和1901 号拍品
