RARE "BÖTTGER" PORCELAIN FIGURE OF A CHINESE WOMAN

Meissen, ca. 1715-20.
In part gilt. No mark.
H 9.8 cm.

Minimal chips on the base and on the hat, object in the right hand, broken off.

Comparable items: Collection Darmstaedter, Rudolph Lepke Berlin, 24.-26.3.1925, No. 45 (colorfully painted and holding a tea cup in the right hand); Porzellansammlung Dresden (E. Zimmermann, Meissener Porzellan, 1908, p. 241, Ill. 103; and 1926, p. 32, Ill. 11).

This small Chinese figure belongs to a group of early, small "Böttger" porcelain figures, cf. Zimmermann 1908, pp. 235-236, Ills. 100-103; Schnorr von Carolsfeld 1956, p. 99, Ill. 57.
