A MINIATURE ZUSHI (PORTABLE SHRINE).

Japan, Edo period, 18th/19th c. Height 13.5 cm.
Black and gold lacquer on wood, metal fittings. The interior houses a standing Kannon figure, presumably assorted. The doors finely painted with a wisteria tree in bloom and flowers.
