IVORY MEDALLION WITH THE PORTRAIT OF CLEOPATRA
England, late 18th/early 19th century.
Ivory carved in relief. Classicist depiction of Cleopatra's bust in profile, one breast revealed with a biting snake. In a rectangular wooden frame with an oval cut-out, a brass frame, and with a brown velour background. The reverse with old Sotheby's label G.S. Mottershead Collection 197.
Without frame 5.5 × 6.5 cm.
