HEAD OF APHRODITE

In the Alexandrian style of the 2nd/1st century B.C. Based on a model of Aphrodite in Knidos by Praxiteles (4th century B.C.).
Marble with remains of red pigment painting and sintering. The head of the goddess is looking to the left. She has a middle part, a double headband, fine wavy hair and a chignon. On a later stone base.
H without base 17 cm.
