BOULLE PENDULUM CLOCK ON PLINTH

Louis XV, Berne/ France, ca. 1750. bears a plaque 'Funck a Berne'.
Wooden core with tortoiseshell with red underlay and inlaid with tendrils in engraved brass. Opulent, fine bronze mounts designed as cornucopias with flower garlands, leaves, decorative friezes, and espagnolettes. The top decorated with a Goddess of Victory. Bronze dial in relief with enamel cartouches (1 restored). Movement with anchor escapement and quarter-hour strike on three bells. 1 key.
