BOULLE CLOCK ON PLINTH

Napoleon III, France, end of the 19th century.
Wooden case inlaid with tortoise shell with red underlay and engraved brass tendrils. Bronze mounts designed as rocailles, scrolled leaves, a putto, and an Angel of Victory. Relief-decorated bronze dial with white enamel cartouches. Movement with anchor escapement, striking the 1/2-hour on bell. 1 key.
41 × 21 × 103 cm.
