TWO PORTRAIT MINIATURES OF CHILDREN

Louis XVI, France, end of the 18th century. One signed Guerin (probably Jean Urbain Guerin 1761-1836) and dated 1791.
Mixed media on ivory. One portrait miniature depicts a girl with a lace bonnet and a blue ribbon, in a white dress with a blue sash around her waist. She is carrying a flower basket. The back of the frame inscribed: Fanny de Coigny mariée à Horace Sabastiani, décédée à Constantinople le ... 1807. The second portrait miniature depicts a girl or a boy wearing a white shirt and a yellow wraparound garment. Both portrait miniatures in a bronze frame, probably gilt later. The top of the frames featuring a crown. Both portraits with a capsule in the back, containing locks of hair.
6.5 × 4.5 cm, with frame 17 × 13.5 cm.
