A LARGE TUREEN AND COVER

Meissen, c. 1739.
Painted in East Asian Kakiemon style. The bowl with two applied palm leaf handles issuing from bearded male masks and painted with the Korean lion. The domed cover with foliate relief decoration, painted in “famille-verte” style with butterfly decoration. Traces of a blue sword mark on the underside of the tureen, Pressnummer 25.
