- von Sickingen collection (verso Exlibris with coat of arms).
- Collection of Sophia Maximiliana Agnes Maria von Engelbrecht (1859–circa 1937), nee von Sinner, Schloss Landshut (label verso).
- Collection of Friedrich von Tscharner (1868–1952), Bern.
- Via inheritance, Swiss private collection.

The painting is registered at RKD, The Hague, as by the hand of Pieter Harmensz. Verelst.

Condition:
Oil on canvas, mounted on panel, cradled. Paint surface partly slightly thin, with craquelure and visible colour break-ups. Colour abrasion along the edges.
Under UV: some retouched craquelure and colour break-ups in the background, on the figures and in the foreground. Varnish appears in fluorescent green.
