Hand-coloured albumen prints fix mounted on cardboard supports. Vintages. Each approx. 26 x 20.5 cm (vertical and horizontal formats); supports 36.5 x 27.5 cm. Most with imprinted legend or inventory number, some supports hand annotated in English. Damaged cardboard album of the period (lacking covers).
Shown are various portraits and representations of occupations (Shinto priest, samurai, farmers, fabric seller, tattooed individual), city and country views (harbour and Peak Tram of Hong Kong, Nagasaki, temples (Nikko, Osuwa, Kamakura). - The album fragmentary preserved, the spine ruptured, binding partially broken, some supports missing, some loosening , some loose. The prints somewhat scratched, slightly rubbed, faded; the supports browned in the margins, slight foxing. Overall well preserved.
