LARGE KNIFE WITH AMBER HANDLE IN THE SHAPE OF A HUNTER

Probably Gdansk or Königsberg, 17th century.
Amber handle carved all round in the form of a hunter with a dog. The hunter's face carved in bone or bone amber. Handle cap in the form of a gilt brass hat with button end. Octagonal engraved brass collar. Blade with tip on the cutting edge. Smith's mark.
L 27.6 cm.


Losses to the amber. Chips to the collar. Broken and loose below the skirt. Losses to the amber on the rear side. Blade worn and corroded.
