KNIFE WITH LION ATTACHMENT
French, 16th century.
Conical gadrooned iron handle tapering slightly towards the bolster with a fully sculpted end designed as a seated lion on a capital. Round bolster with leaf decoration. Blade with tip on the cutting edge.
L 17.7 cm.
Lion's head heavily rubbed. Oxidized and corroded. Blade worn.
