HORAE B. M. V. -

Book of Hours. Latin script on vellum. With 6 full page miniatures with floral border on 3 sides, as well as initials and decorated borders in colour and heightened in gold.
France (Paris?), ca. 1420-30. 19.7 × 14 cm. [144] ff. Written area 9.5 × 6.5 cm. 15 line Textura. Restored blind embossed leather binding using old cover, with rich roll band ornamentation and scudding decoration, gilt edge (spine ends somewhat damaged, slightly rubbed and worn, some small worm holes).


The script in clean and fresh condition. Six large pictorial miniatures: Adoration of the Magi, The Presentation in the Temple, The Flight into Egypt, The Throne of Mercy, David and The Requiem.

With generous and broad framed margins. The front inner hinge slightly flaked. The margins slightly browned, the first leaf with faint trace of handling, only occasional light rubbing of ink. Overall very clean and legible script.
