Appenzell, inscribed JOHANES ZELLWEGER 1812 AN KATHERINA STURZENEGGERIN.
Pine, opulently painted with flowers, friezes, flower medallions, soldiers and various landscape reserves. The door with a medallion featuring the Empress, inscribed MARIA LUISE VON OESTREICH. SIE WURDE GEBOREN ANNO 1791, and a medallion featuring Napoleon, inscribed NAPOLEON KAISER DER FRANZOSEN GEBOREN DEN 15 OKTOBER 1769. The corners featuring a medallion with a castle, inscribed DAS KÖNIGLICHE SCHLOSS IN LONDON and DER GROSSE SPITAL IN KOPENHAGEN. Front with 2 doors. Brass mounts. 2 keys. Some losses.

Rare cabinet with historic references to the War between France and England and potentially to the 1807 bombing of Copenhagen by the British Army . The person ordering the cabinet, Johannes Zellweger, was probably in the military service under Napoleon, and may have been involved in these battles.
