Gennady Padalka (born 1958), a legendary international cosmonaut, holds the world record for the most cumulative time spent in space—an astounding 879 days across five missions. His career took him to both the Mir Space Station and the International Space Station (ISS), showcasing his unparalleled endurance and commitment to pushing the boundaries of long-duration spaceflight.

In this exceptional offering, we present not only Padalka’s space-worn Omega Speedmaster with its original astronaut strap but also his space-flown and signed EVA glove—both tangible symbols of his extraordinary journey in space.

Padalka’s impact goes beyond his time in orbit; he played a key role in promoting international collaboration in space. As a commander aboard the ISS, he worked side by side with astronauts from around the world, embodying the spirit of unity that drives humanity's greatest scientific endeavors.
His leadership and contributions continue to inspire future generations of explorers.

Presented here is his space-worn Omega Speedmaster, still featuring the original astronaut strap.

The Omega Speedmaster, famously known as the ‘Moonwatch’, became iconic for the role it played in space exploration. Selected by NASA in 1965 after rigorous testing, it was worn during historic space missions, including Apollo 11. The model Buzz Aldrin wore became the first watch on the moon.

It also proved to be instrumental during the Apollo 13 mission, when the crew used their watches to safely return home. Today, these legendary Speedmasters are either housed in museums or preserved at NASA, underscoring their enduring legacy in space history.

This very watch, serial N77803465, was worn by Gennady Padalka during his ISS-Expedition missions 43 and 44 in 2015, where he spent over 168 days in space. Additionally, it was also worn during his spacewalk in August 2015, along with the space glove also presented here (serial 10KM-2-0830129). During this EVA, Padalka spent 5 hours and 31 minutes outside the ISS, floating in space.

The accompanying video shows Padalka during his spacewalk, wearing the watch and glove, clearly displaying the matching serial number on the glove. The importance of these items cannot be overstated. This is the first time a space-flown watch, paired with a space glove, has come to auction with comprehensive video documentation, matching serial numbers, and letters from the cosmonaut himself, making this the best possible provenance for such a historic artefact.

This extraordinary watch symbolizes humanity‘s relentless pursuit of exploration and the power of international colllaboration, even in times of uncertainty. As a piece that has journeyed beyond Earth, it stands as a reminder of what can be achieved when we unite in the quest for knowledge and discovery.
