SMALL BOUILLON TUREEN AND PLATTER WITH MERCANTILE SHIPPING SCENES

Meissen, ca. 1735-40.
The tureen is standing on three paw feet with a scrolled handle to the side, painted with a harbor scene in quatrefoil cartouches with gold lace borders, foliage and scrollwork, and with feathered leaves in iron-red and purple. Indian flower branches in the intermediate spaces. The platter with a corresponding cartouche with a gold lace border on the rim, three Indian flower branches on the back of the lip. Underglaze blue sword marks, gilder's number 8. on both pieces.
Ø 9.4 cm and 16.8 cm, H 13.8 cm.
