The watch on offer is one of a limited series which was issued in 1994 in honor of the famous cartographer and humanist Gerardus Mercator on the occasion of the 400th anniversary of his death.
An ingenious mechanism enables a double retrograde display of the hours and minutes. The hands, represented as compass points, move only in an arc segment and jump back to their starting point when reaching the end of the segment.
