BELL-SHAPED CRATER
Campanian, early 3rd century B.C.
Terracotta, painted with red figures. Side A: Central figure of a winged Eros holding a mirror in his right hand, and a phiale and an alabastron in his left hand, flanked by a seated man and woman. Side B: Two figures facing one another, each wrapped in a long himation. Decorated with a meander frieze, palmettes and garland of tendrils under the lip.
Ø 44 cm, H 40.5 cm.
Assembledr from various original parts. Paintwork in part rubbed.
