ANTHROPOMORPHIC LURISTAN STANDARD

Luristan, early 9th - 7th century B.C.
Bronze, weathered and with verdigris. Central shaft with axis- mirrored Janus-headed central figures with an additional face on the chest. On a later base.
H without base 22.5 cm.

A similar Luristan standard with the characteristic axial mirroring is in the Nasli M. Heeramaneck Collection of Ancient Near Eastern and Central Asian Art at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (Inv. No. M.76.97.37).
