PAIR OF BEAKER CUPS

Meissen, ca. 1715-20. The paintwork in Holland.
With applied rose branches, the twisted stiles forming the handle, painted in sea green, light blue, purple and brown. Decorated with insects and stylized leaf tendrils with iron-red flowers in the Kakiemon style on the inner rim; the rims edged in brown.
H 7.7 cm.


Hairline crack at the rim of one cup.

- The Collection of the Margraves and Grand Dukes of Baden, Sotheby's Baden-Baden, October 5-21, 1995, lot 1277.
- Important German private collection, acquired at the above auction.
- By inheritance in the present private collection.
