MONUMENTAL BOULLE-PENDULUM CLOCK WITH CARILLON ON BASE

Napoleon III, 19th century. The earlier movement, 18th century, signed Ellicott London.
Curved case applied with red tortoiseshell and inlaid with engraved brass designed as tendrils, leaves, masks, monkeys, etc. Opulent, in part pierced bronze mounts designed as rocailles, a mascaron and two human heads. The top with a monumental figure. The door bronze with a Bacchanal scene. Bronze dial in relief with white enamel, in part restored. Movement with verge escapement and carillon on eight bells.
73 × 36 × 203 cm.
