ARMORIAL PANEL

Probably Lucerne or Central Switzerland, dated 1653.
The bottom with a round coat-of-arms medallion, the center with a central battle scene on a bridge. One side with a figure of Mary on a crescent moon, holding the Christ Child in her arms, the other side with Saint Catherine of Alexandria. Above the battle scene, an inscribed cartouche with an aphorism. The top of the panel with scenes from daily life, with a horse and cart. The bottom of the panel with an inscribed cartouche: [x] Müller zuo Rickenbach und des Grichts Hagendorff Maria Jacoba Mansl [x] in Gott selig und Katharina Dürholzin sein Ehegmahel anno 1653.
39 × 32 cm.

Cracks, colors rubbed, repairs to the lead, supplements.
