"Flower Is can serve as an eminently fitting apotheosis for stream-of-consciousness photography. It is one of Frank's great books (which means it is one of the greatest of photobooks) demonstrating magisterially, as he himself says in the book's introduction, 'my hopes and my sadness with photography'."
