BISCUIT PORCELAIN MANTEL CLOCK "LE TEMPS QUI PASSE",

France or Russia, end of the 18th century.
Biscuit porcelain and bronze. White enamel dial, gilt bezel. Parisian movement, striking the 1/2-hour on bell. On a later wooden plinth, the edge set with lapis lazuli. Fire cracks, the marble top, later. Originally, probably featuring a vase. Foot repaired. Movement, may require servicing.
32x20x53 cm.


A very similar marble clock with a movement by Ferdinand Berthoud can be found in the Pavlovsk Palace near St. Petersburg.
