MARBLE GROUP OF SLEEPING CUPIDS,

Baroque, Rome ca. 1730.
"Carrara" marble. Two sleeping Cupids as an Allegory of Sleep, on an oval base. Some chips.
L 58.5 cm.

Provenance:
- from a private collection, Switzerland.

A similar marble group with three sleeping Cupids is part of the collections of the Villa Borghese in Rome. A further marble figure of a sleeping Cupid was part of the Collections Alberto di Castro in Rome.
