LONG CASE CLOCK,

Louis XV, the case stamped B. LIEUTAUD (Balthazar Lieutaud, maître 1749), the dial signed J. GOFFIN A ANGERS (Eloy Goffin, maître 1778), Paris, ca. 1760/80.
Tulipwood and amaranth in veneer, finely inlaid "en papillon" and with fillets and ornamental frieze. Enamel dial with hours in Roman numerals and minutes in Arabic numerals. 3 fine, partly gilt hands. Movement with verge escapement "à tête de poupée", striking the 1/2-hour on bell. Exceptionally fine, matte and polished gilt bronze mounts and applications. Alterations.
