LAPISLAZULI, DIAMOND AND RUBY POWDER BOX, JANESICH, ca. 1925. Yellow gold and platinum. Rectangular Art Deco powder box of lapislazuli with facetted edges, the cover decorated with 1 round, open-worked chinoiserie motif with small rose-cut diamonds and ruby cabochons in millegrain settings. Hinge and clasp decorated with 3 "Y"-shaped ornaments with diamonds and cut onyx, 1 is missing, some have been replaced by glass. Inside, a compartment for powder and a mirror with a gold frame. Signed Janesich No. 2596, French marks. L 8.5 x W 4.9 x H 1.5 cm. With original case, signed Janesich 19, Rue de la Paix, Paris Monte-Carlo, No. 2.596.
