TRANSFORMATION TABLE, Louis XV, Russia circa 1760. Cherry, burlwood and local partly dyed fruitwoods in veneer, finely inlaid on all sides with flowers, leaves, cartouches, wave band, lozenge pattern and frieze. The shaped hinged top with mirror inside, a broad central drawer at the front over knee hole, flanked by 2 drawers each side, the fitted interior with leather lined sliding ledge over removable secret compartment. With gilt bronze mounts and knobs. 125x70x83 cm. Provenance: Private collection, Germany.
