NETSUKE.Japan, late 19th century. L 3.5 cm. Ivory. Two monkeys with inlaid eyes in the process of enjoying their food. One of the monkeys has gnawed a large hole into a chestnut and is presently sitting in it, the other monkey is eating a persimmon. Signed: Masatami (Shomin).

Japan, spätes 19.Jh. L 3,5 cm.

Elfenbein. Zwei Affen mit eingelegten Augen beim Schlemmen. Der eine hat ein grosses Loch in eine Kastanie gefressen und sitzt nun darin, der andere macht sich ans Verzehren einer Kaki. Signiert Masatami (Shomin).
