A PAIR OF CANDLESTICKS
Louis XVI style, France, 19th century. Signed Picard (Henri Picard, active 1831–1864).
Grey marble, and gilt and chased bronze. Conical marble shaft tapering towards the bottom, with a vase-shaped nozzle on a round base. Decorated with pearl and leaf friezes. Signed Picard and numbered 1855 and 1544, respectively, on the bottom.
H 19 cm.
Small chips to the marble. Bronze slightly rubbed.
