HELBARD
Swiss or German, 1st quarter of the 16th century.
Solid, short square spike, small, narrow trapeze-shaped blade with inclined, straight edge. Dent (sword strike?), upper and lower side of the blade slightly concave, beak-shaped hook over a long, narrow base, marked with a "U"–shaped mark in a pentagon. Two langets. Octagonal shaft highly restored.
L 191.5 cm.

The helbard on offer is a rare early helbard from the time of Marignano 1515 and Pavia 1525.
