Six sheets with architectural motifs. From the series 'Wunderbarliche kostliche Gemält', ed. Jakob and Tobias Gessner, Zürich, 1558/61. Including: 1. Rotunde mit Dom; 2. Tor mit Herkules-Statue; 3. Fassade mit drei Tordurchgängen; 4. Tempelfront mit einen Altar flankierenden Hermen; 5. Rundtempel mit einem Säulengang auf dem untersten Stockwerk; 6. Grosser Palast mit zwei Türmen.
Woodcuts on laid paper.
Four sheets monogrammed or ligature in the block. One sheet inscribed in the block: Zu Zürich.
Various sizes and formats: from ca. 19 x 26 cm to 29 x 20 cm (in vertical and horizontal formats).
Provenance:
Very fine, strong, even and clear impressions. The individual sheets partly minimally foxed or with scattered stains. Few traces of wear and age. The outer margins partly with slight discolouration from adhesive verso which is slightly visible recto. Individual sheets somewhat cockled and with insignificant creases. A few remains of the mount verso. Overall in good condition. - Very rare.
