Ivory with an almost continuous crack, a smaller chip on the upper edge, and minor scratches. Metal insert with dents, partly bent and a small stress crack on the lip.

Provenance:
- Christie's London, auction 500 years: Decorative Arts Europe, July 8, 2010, lot 62.
- Collection Dr. E. Boehlen, Berne, acquired at the above auction.

Given the existence of at least two other cups with the same scene, one in the Reiner Winkler Collection and the other in the Bavarian National Museum in Munich, it is likely that the source of the scene is a contemporary engraving. While Theuerkauff cautiously catalogs the Winkler cup in the late 17th or perhaps even 19th century, Berliner dates the Bavarian National Museum's version with greater certainty to the mid-17th century.
