LONG-CASE CLOCK WITH DATE AND SECOND,
George III, England ca. 1780. The dial signed John Starey Royal Exchange.
Mahogany, satinwood and other partly dyed woods, inlaid in the form of fans, fillet and blossoming branches. Glued-on Russian inscriptions inside the case, possibly for the Russian market. Pierced brass ornaments and three spherical ornaments on the top (later). Movement with Graham escapement, striking the 1/2-hour on bell (can be turned off). Blued steel hands. Repetition. 2 weights and a pendulum. Winding key. 2 keys. Movement may require servicing.
