Splendid Book of Hours. Careful and consistent writing in sepia on vellum with very broad margins. 16-line Gothic Textura, Calendarium 17 lines, rubrics and ruling in red. Throughout with one and two-line lombards and line endings, the Calendarium with two-line KL initials, numerous leaves with foliate vine borders, with flowers and fruits all in colour and gold. The 8 large high quality charming miniatures with finely drawn faces (each ca. 76 × 47 mm) : ff. 13v: Annunciation, 70v.: Presentation in the Temple, 105v: Miracle at Pentecost, 112v: Last Judgement, 168v: Saint Sebastian, 170v: Adoration of the Magi, 172v: Saint Antonius of Padua, 174v: Saint Catherine of Alexandria. - In addition to the prayers of Adoration for the Virgin Mary, are liturgical prayers for Saints Sebastian, Anthony and Catherine as well as the Te Deum. - Well preserved and legible script. Old numbering throughout. Some areas of the borders somewhat soiled and slightly smudged, occasional minimal flaking and rubbing. Leaf 92 and 93 with stronger rubbing and glued, f. 91 missing. Old writing by another hand on front and back endpapers.
