PAINTED CLOCK ON PLINTH,
Louis XV, Paris, ca. 1760/70.
Wood, painted all around with rural buildings, flowers, leaves and decorative frieze, on a green ground. Curved case with pierced cartouche top (later) on a plinth tapering towards the bottom. Enamel dial with Arabic minute and Roman hour numerals. Movement with verge escapement striking the 3/4 hour on 2 bells. Gilt bronze mounts and applications. 2 keys.
