PAINTED PENDULUM CLOCK ON PLINTH,
Louis XV, Paris ca. 1740/50. The dial signed BAILLON À PARIS (probably G. Baillon, maître ca. 1750).
Curved wooden case, painted with flowers and garlands on a turquoise ground. Pierced bronze mounts designed as scrolls, leaves and flowers. Treize-pièce dial (restorations). Movement with verge escapement, striking the 1/2-hour on bell (repaired). The paintwork retouched. Bell repaired, hammer replaced. Movement requires servicing.
